About
P&L Insights is built by P&L Consulting, which has spent its working life answering questions about African markets with whatever evidence could be assembled at the time.
What we are building and why
Why this exists
The information needed to make a decision about an African market usually already exists. It sits with a dozen publishers who share no definitions, in formats that do not agree, on schedules nobody coordinates. The work of assembling it is repeated from scratch for every question, and most of it is thrown away afterwards.
What we decided to build
The assembling is the part that does not scale by adding people, so that is the part we automated. The platform reads continuously and keeps what it finds, with the evidence attached. It is infrastructure under the work rather than a replacement for it.
Where judgement stays
The platform will tell you what was published, what it appears to oblige and what it contradicts. It will not tell you what to do about it. Framing the question, weighing the answer and standing behind a recommendation remain human work, and that is where our own practice sits.
On being careful
Every claim the platform makes names the document, the page and the sentence behind it. If it cannot quote a source, it does not make the claim. That constraint costs coverage and we accept the trade, because an institution cannot act on something it is unable to check.

We are onboarding early partners ahead of commercial launch. Tell us what your institution watches and we will show you the platform against it.
